All right, party people - here's the long awaited little "surprise" that I've been teasing you with... It's another gift from our good friend Jack White and our pals at Third Man Records... THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE NEW DEAD WEATHER VIDEO! So kick off your shoes, light up a fuse, and get ready for a live performance of the DW rocker, "Blue Blood Blues"! I COMMAND YOU TO CRANK IT UP AND ROCK IT OUT:
If I'm not mistaken, I'd say that this was shot on the very same stage at Third Man Records where Jack and Conan had their now infamous rock duet! (You can still purchase a vinyl of that secret show right here if you haven't already - and if you haven't already... What's wrong with you, baby?) Man. That was such a cool night. I bought a vinyl myself, and I can't wait to listen to it again to see if it really was as insanely awesome as I remember. I feel like it just might be! ;)
Anyway, thanks again to Jack White, The Dead Weather, and the rest of our friends over at Third Man for letting us premiere the video right here on TeamCoco.com! How fun is all this rock awesomeness we've had on here?! I'll tell you: SUPER FUN! I must say, I'm really enjoying this back and forth - between the rock world and the comedy world... It's just something that you don't see anywhere else, you know? Tres awesome. Hey, as a thank you, maybe we'll let The Dead Weather premiere some never before seen Ruben Studdard jokes in their liner notes of their next album! Whaddya say, guys?! Yeah, you're right - that's probably a bad idea. We'll make them Clay Aiken jokes instead.
At any rate, thanks guys!! You rock! I mean that literally. You LITERALLY ROCK. Ha ha.
And that's it for today, kids! Make sure to watch our "Team Coco Presents: The Conan Writers" Special this Sunday at 10pm on TBS, and we'll see you right back here next week for the very first TEAM COCO TUESDAY!! (If you want to talk before then, I'll continue writing a daily blog over at aaronbleyaert.com, of course). SEE YOU ALL TUESDAY! Peace out!!
The drawing was of an asteroid, the name was Kahlua and it was completed in `77. The mushrooms told me. BTW, it's Gingko not ginko. The flower always dies.
PS: If you think being driven into the guardrail of a bridge and other acts of violence is funny...shame on you.
This was TOTALLY worth the wait!!! AWESOME!!!! Thanks!!!!! :D I finally bought the record after making sure I had enough in my bank account for both that and rent. :P And I'm one of the cool kids who already HAS a record player! Now hopefully it won't sound as shitty when I play a brand-new, clean record on it. I really should invest in record cleaner.
I put some aloe vera on my hands after being burned by all that rock. It worked pretty well but then I watched the video because OH MAN, THIS IS AWESOME! THANK YOU GUYS! And not my hands are blistering.
I love that Jack White is so Team Coco! I can't wait to get my record, but I am thinking about ordering another one just so I have one that never gets played.
Alright Bley, go find Crotteau and your tour buds and have an AWESOME SAUCE day!
Love Jack White and the Dead Weather. Love him even more for being such a great Coco supporter. Great video and nice surprise! I can't wait to see them in July at First Avenue!
