Roadie Rock!
Man oh man! Last night I told myself I was going to take it easy; it's our last night in a hotel for awhile, I was physically and mentally exhausted, and tomorrow is gonna be really rough (more on that in a second). But, instead of just going right back to the hotel and relaxing, I decide to go out for one drink. ONE. DRINK.
Well, after a night of drinking with Dropkick Murphys at their bar, buying scratch off lotto tickets for the guy who works at 7-11, and raiding minibars, I can safely say this: Boston, I love you. What a great time! I'm tired today, but it was totally worth the adventure - and the minibar bill. Ha ha ha! Looks like the road still has some tricks up its sleeve yet. ;)
As we head into the home stretch of the tour, things start loosening up a bit. Case in point: Before Conan got here today, some of the crew formed their own little band and rocked out:
That's Drew on Vocals, Winslow on keys, Crotteau on the skins, and Ruff on bass! I told them that they should call their band "Yes, it works." Ha ha.
Anyway, Yes It Works played a little "Owner of a Lonely Heart", "Oh, Darling", and a couple of other tunes - and. was. TERRIBLE. Sorry, dudebros. You know I speak the truth. I think they're gonna need a bit more practice before they can ask Conan to open for Reggies. All kidding aside, you know who's NOT terrible? DROPKICK MURPHYS! Yup! Here's a fan video of them from last night!
You can kind of get a feel for the intensity of the crowd and the performance from the video, I think. Right? SO GREAT. Thanks again for doing it, dudes!!
Tonight we've got one more Boston show, and then we roll out to Connecticut - which is gonna be gnnnnnarly. We leave here at 5am, and there's no hotel rooms, showers, or anything until 5pm! Yikes. Plus, there's a women's basketball game playing tomorrow where we're going to be performing... So if they go into overtime, we won't be able to load in or soundcheck or ANYTHING until they're done!! Let's all hope for a blowout.
I'm stoked for tonight's show - and REALLY stoked for tonight's hashtag! Ha ha ha. Just wait. ;)

Had to see a men’s doctor today. Why? Let’s just say "Newt is no longer surging in the polls."

Why must you always leave us with a cliffhanger!!!??? haha...I'll be anxiously awaiting to find out tonight's hashtag. =)
And why is there no video of Yes It Works? I think we can all be the judge of whether they rocked or not. =)
Here's wishing that the woman's basketball game is a blowout tomorrow night!! =)
Have an awesome second show in Baaaaaaaston!!

Hey Aaron, the rss feed for this blog isn't working and all links link to the blog page, not the feed. I tried in several ways and several feed readers and couldn't get it to work. Your website's feed still works fine though.
Check it out if you can. Thanks.
Yes, It Works should tour the country. Again. But on the stage during the show this time.
And damn, Dropkick Murphys are always awesome. All of my craziest concert experience have been at their shows, though I'm sure seeing them in Boston would be even more insane. I only wish they had play "Kiss Me I'm ****faced" instead.
And finally, because I must: I hope the Wang is up for another night of passion(ate comedy).
I am already a Yes It Works groupie, I am THAT suggestible!
We on IWC were a little concerned for your well being last night....what with all the alcohol and Irishmen, we thought maybe you wouldn't make it. But you proved us wrong again, Bleyaert. If skydiving and calf balls don't kill you, I guess that makes you pretty much unstoppable.
How can "Oh, Darling" ever sound terrible? Maybe I don't want to know...
I like Dropkick Murphys, and Boston was always my favorite place to visit growing up. I used to have my heart set on living there. But I'm a New York City gal through and through.
This is the first show like this I've ever seen, all I've ever seen is sports games, but being a massive CoCo fan I had to go. The show was amazing! See you on TBS, and thanks for the high-five!
Yesterday we got a video of Crotteau playing the piano, and now we get a whole Team Coco crew band! Ah, I love it!
Oh, and I love the hashtag for tonight's show! I'm not going to give it away...
YAY! I second the request for a Yes, It Works (that's what she said by the way) video, so we can be the judges lol. At least they played good songs? Also, is Crotteau a mult-instrumentalist or was he just pretending on the drums? lol.
Great video (thanks fan!) and sounds like you had an awesome adventure! Good luck for tonight -- and that hashtag is indeed AWESOME! :D
Awesome video! And I do indeed love the hashtag for tonight. The IWC folks are having a lot of fun with it. :)
Best. Hashtag. Ever. I think most of the people tweeting with it aren't even at the show, they're just making hilarious jokes. Thank you for providing a great deal of my happiness today, Aaron. :)
I was so excited to see that Dropkick Murphys were last night's guest! The song they sang is pretty much a Red Sox fan's anthem and it sounded great live. Thanks for sharing the video!
After tonight's hashtag, we are going to hell when we die. LOL
Was at the show in Boston, and wow... it was amazing. The crowd was young and energized. Between high-fiving the band and watching Conan jamm out, it was not short of epic. Wish I could seen the guys out afterwords, but I am sure everyone enjoyed Boston.
