Jerry & LaBamba warm up the crowd at the top of the show!

We came, we saw, WE KICKED ITS ASS: Boston, thank you for a great back to back night of awesome screaming insane crowd energy!!  Dropkick Murphys also showed up again tonight - and in addition to rocking out their own stuff, they joined Conan onstage for a double encore of The Weight and 40 Days!!  It was ELECTRIC.  Also electric: Tonight's hashtag, which ended up being #cocoswang!  HA HA HA HA.  I'm sorry.  I just couldn't help myself.  I had to get one more Wang joke in before we left Beantown. ;)

Tonight and tomorrow are gonna be rough: The buses don't leave until FIVE AM, and then when we get to Mohegan Sun, we can't go anywhere until 5pm!  It's gonna be a maaaaaaaaaajor bummmmmmmmer.  Oh well.  What to do until the bus leaves? Hmm... I'm sure we'll think of SOMEthing.... :)

    See you tomorrow!

Man oh man!  Last night I told myself I was going to take it easy; it's our last night in a hotel for awhile, I was physically and mentally exhausted, and tomorrow is gonna be really rough (more on that in a second).  But, instead of just going right back to the hotel and relaxing, I decide to go out for one drink.  ONE. DRINK.

Well, after a night of drinking with Dropkick Murphys at their bar, buying scratch off lotto tickets for the guy who works at 7-11, and raiding minibars, I can safely say this:  Boston, I love you.  What a great time!  I'm tired today, but it was totally worth the adventure - and the minibar bill.  Ha ha ha!  Looks like the road still has some tricks up its sleeve yet. ;)

As we head into the home stretch of the tour, things start loosening up a bit.  Case in point: Before Conan got here today, some of the crew formed their own little band and rocked out:

That's Drew on Vocals, Winslow on keys, Crotteau on the skins, and Ruff on bass!  I told them that they should call their band "Yes, it works." Ha ha.

Anyway, Yes It Works played a little "Owner of a Lonely Heart", "Oh, Darling", and a couple of other tunes - and. was. TERRIBLE.  Sorry, dudebros.  You know I speak the truth. I think they're gonna need a bit more practice before they can ask Conan to open for Reggies.  All kidding aside, you know who's NOT terrible?  DROPKICK MURPHYS! Yup! Here's a fan video of them from last night!

You can kind of get a feel for the intensity of the crowd and the performance from the video, I think.  Right?  SO GREAT.  Thanks again for doing it, dudes!!

Tonight we've got one more Boston show, and then we roll out to Connecticut - which is gonna be gnnnnnarly.  We leave here at 5am, and there's no hotel rooms, showers, or anything until 5pm!  Yikes.  Plus, there's a women's basketball game playing tomorrow where we're going to be performing... So if they go into overtime, we won't be able to load in or soundcheck or ANYTHING until they're done!!  Let's all hope for a blowout.

I'm stoked for tonight's show - and REALLY stoked for tonight's hashtag!  Ha ha ha.  Just wait.  ;)

It was a rip roaring hometown crowd tonight - and we did our best to please!  The Wang was throbbing with anticipation this evening, and we really wanted to penetrate the crowds eyes and ears with sights and sounds they wouldn't soon forget.  Standing backstage, I always judge the crowd by where and how much they laugh at the cold open of the show; and then again when Conan goes out.  Tonight is going to be hard to top, y'all. Hard to top.  REALLY REALLY HARD.  (Okay, I'll stop the Wang jokes for now)

Anyway, tonight was obviously very special for Conan; about 300 members of his family were in the audience, and he really got loose and played around a lot tonight, which was super cool to see.  I always love all the ad libbing, because it helps keep the show fresh and funn for us, too - and tonight, Conan was ON FIRE.  It was GREAT!!  Also great: OUR SPECIAL SURPRISE GUESTS...

    DROPKICK MURPHYS!!

(That's them & Conan from soundcheck today)

Conan joined them onstage for a rabble rousing rendition of "I'm Shipping Up To Boston", which you know from The Departed, and it BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN.  Holy mother of god in heaven above.  The crowd went absolutely dragon fruits!  It was insanely, INSANELY cool.  Also cool: Our OTHER surprise guest....

    ED HELMS!!!

(That's Ed before the show with Writer Matt O'Brien and Head Writer Mike Sweeney)

Ed sang a sweet song on the piano about everything that had happened in the show last night!  Ha ha ha.  It had all of us backstage in stitches!  Rock on, my man!  ROCK ON.

A great great show tonight... And I can't wait to see what tomorrow's crowd is gonna bring!  YOU BETTER BRING IT, BOSTON.  YOU'VE ONLY GOT US FOR ONE MORE NIGHT!!!

    See you tomorrow.  ;)
