Michelle Dockery On "Downton Abbey's" Porn Parody

You might not think Michelle would appreciate "Down On Abby," but she's actually quite the fan.

Transcript:

Conan: Many great things come into your life because you had the success with
"Downton Abbey" and the inevitable downside which is the porn parody that's out there.
I know you're aware of this. You were like fine about us talking about it.
This is real by the way. What an amazing show we have. It's called "Down on Abby."
I'm trusting you haven't seen it.
Michelle: No.
Conan: I have not seen it.
Michelle: That's me, isn't it? The one with the very large breasts.
Conan: This is you I believe
right here.
It's not you, but, yeah.
What is your-- is that
something that you guys all look
at with a sense of humor.
Michelle: Of course. P. Diddy did --
Conan: P. Diddy did something for funny
or die where he put himself into
scenes called "Downtown Abby"
and everybody's ignoring him.
You said that the reaction in
America has been more intense.
Michelle: It's definitely more intense.
Conan: Do you think that's
because people in England like
to downplay things a little bit?
Michelle: Completely. Americans just -- there is more of an
excitement about it in some ways.
Conan: We've always liked to act
like, well, we don't have
that-- we're Americans.
We don't need giant mansions and
butlers, but then there's a
secret part of it that's like,
wouldn't that be cool.
We all think you live like that.
Let's talk about non-stop.
You play a flight attendant and you play opposite
the great Liam Neeson.
You had to under go real
training for this?
Michelle: We did.
We had a flight attendant from
Delta called Debbie, who we named
Debbie Delta. She took us through basic training.
We had to do training on the slides, the big inflatable slides.
And I was terrified and I was doing that thing of going, I
can't do this.
I'm wearing heels and the heel
will go through the slide and it
will be a nightmare, so I'm not
doing it and I kept making excuses.
And the director is going,
Michelle, you need to do it
because we need it in the film.
Me and Lupita Nyong'o who plays
the other flight attendant were terrified.
You have to do that thing where you
leap as you go down and it's terrifying.
I had to be the first to go down
because I'm head flight attendant and I catch everybody else.
So I slide down and it was the best feeling.
It was like being eight years old.
I'm like, God, it's amazing.
Come on, Lupita! I'll catch you!
Conan: If a plane had to have
that kind of planning and they
said everybody off and everyone
went, wee!
Michelle: We were having to stop
ourselves from going, weee! And smiling. Because we have to look terrified.
Conan: Andy would be like, I want
to go again.
Andy: I would.
Michelle: Every time they were saying, and
cut. We were waiting for the moment when they said, and we have to go
again, we were like, yeah!
Conan: Can't we just play on
this for a while?
I'm one of the guys that pays
attention during the safety
demonstration.
Don't they say kick your shoes off first?
Michelle: Yes, they do and we went down
in flat shoes. I don't think you see that in the film.
Conan: I just want to get the correct information out there
because that's the kind of guy I am.
