The CONAN "Minecraft" Episode That Will Never Be

Conan wanted to animate a whole episode inside the hit cubist game, but Minecraft's creators weren't on board.

TranscriptAnd we had an idea which is to take an entire episode of this show and re-air it entirely in the "minecraft" style. From beginning to the end all "minecraft" stuff. ANDY: Sounds like it bowl a lot of fun. CONAN: It would be fun. When we asked the "mine craftcraft" they initially said yes. Then they suddenly changed their mind and said we don't want you to do it. Well, that seems really crazy especially in light of the fact that the Internet is packed with "minecraft" videos. CONAN: And I thought well, what's the harm? Everyone else is doing it? An I thought we'd do it. And the sad thing is now we'll never know what we could have looked like in a "minecraft" universe. I mean, I know. Maybe it would have looked really cool. ANDY: I would have loved to see our show in the "minecraft" style. CONAN: Image what a mine craft you would look like. And you do carry an ax. ANDY: That's true. CONAN: We could have guests come on in "minecraft" style. ANDY: And the people who are saying no to us they could only benefit from it. They could only benefit from seeing you and me and the guys and the band -- CONAN: Not all the guys in the band. That takes too much work. We could probably have one of them. ANDY: La Bamba, he's pretty easy to draw. Mustache, hat. You could see the audience. We could be on a pirate ship. ANDY: That would be cool. CONAN: We could be in a castle. ANDY: I could be in a castle. CONAN: What if we were in some sort of deem pit. It's a real shame. Folks we'll take a break. We'll be right back.
