"My Takeaway With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar" Features Firm But Fair Reviews

First he set his sights on "Girls," now we'll see what Kareem thinks about Fig Newtons.

CONAN: recently, ladies and gentlemen, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar upset some people.
He wrote a critical review of the hbo show "girls" and then this week Kareem wrote a review of "django unchained.”
He said it was a great b movie and it didn't deserve a best picture Oscar nomination.
Now, as you can see, suddenly Kareem is quite outspoken with his opinions.
So, we invited him to share his feelings about other things that are on his mind in a segment called "my takeaway with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.”

>> This movie took a while to get going.
And Chris tucker wasn't given very much to do.
Jennifer Lawrence shined as the widow who turns into a tramp but then stops being a tramp.
Overall, pretty good.
Look at this.
Two different horizon lines.
That's just lazy painting.
Call it what it is.
Blurry.
Good, not great.
I haven't heard it all yet.
Whole grain fig newton.

That sketch was overly simplistic and not at all taking advantage of Kareem's time and his incredible comedic talents.
